I have a BSc in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Ghana, and I am currently developing my skills in data science with a particular interest in health and life science applications.
My current technical focus includes Python, pandas, NumPy, SQL, data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, statistics, and introductory machine learning. I have been building these skills through structured learning and personal projects, including analysis of health datasets. I am particularly interested in learning how these techniques are applied to real-world datasets rather than working exclusively with classroom or tutorial examples.
I would like to gain practical experience contributing to genuine projects with real organizations and real-world problems. I am especially interested in projects involving healthcare, public health, biological or scientific data, social impact, and research, although I am open to other projects where my skills can be useful.
At this stage of my development, I am looking for opportunities where I can contribute as part of a team, learn from more experienced volunteers, and gradually take on more responsibility. I am comfortable working with Python and SQL at a developing level and am particularly interested in data cleaning, exploratory analysis, ML, statistical analysis, visualization, and helping turn raw data into useful information for decision-making.
I am also interested in Review/QA work because I would like to develop a stronger understanding of how analytical work is checked for accuracy, reproducibility, and quality.
My main goal is to contribute useful work to an organization while building the practical experience, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills required to become a strong health data scientist. I would value the opportunity to work on a project where I can produce a tangible contribution that benefits the organization and learn from the process
